It's not hard to find an Overseas Filipino Workers success story being published on blogs, social media, or local news channels, demonstrating that success is possible to those who make an effort. A life of an overseas worker is far from being a fairy tale fantasy, yet behind the shine of these success stories is a reality that is often neglected. In recent years, the government of the Philippines has begun to refer to OFWs as "𝑵𝒆𝒘 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒆𝒔" for their contributions to the economy abroad. It is not always easy being an overseas worker (OFW). The truth is, they are also dealing with other difficulties beyond leaving their family in the Philippines for a brighter future.
